Is it me or is it rare to find an American Female singer that sings with a little bit of true grit in her voice?
It seems the case nowadays with the likes of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga summing up the stereotypical view of Female American singers. But with singers like Lissie coming through the ranks on the ever growing American indie scene (which I am so grateful for because its changing my view of American music), it gives you hope that its a case of “singin’ in the rain” syndrome.
Now if you seen the film then you would kind of understand but basically its a case of there being a stage, yes there’s the face, the sweetheart of America, the girl next door. But she can’t sing at all, whilst behind the curtain backstage is the real voice of American music who supplies the face with the voice. That’s probably the worst explanation ever but it makes sense in my head and that’s all that matters!
Fact of the matter is this, American music is slowly growing up. Yes, its a painful process because of a sudden American Pop Music has discovered, what we Brits call, “House Music” but the likes of Lissie are coming. With their straight talking, eyebrow raising in awe talent, I believe American Music is slowly getting there. I don’t mean to be patronising to anyone from USA reading this so please, don’t kill me! Its just I have respect and love for certain parts of american music and I want it to grow and break away from the mudhole mess that is Pop Music. This is why i punched the air when I heard this song, sung by Lissie with such class. This is why Pursuit of Happiness (original by Kid Cudi) by Lissie is my song of the week. Enjoy.

A return of normal proportions
Yes, hello you wonderful world of Tumblr! I’m back, so to speak.
Excuse me for my poor grammar and spelling, I’m writing this on the London Tube…here we go…

I joke I joke. I’m taking up as much space as I can to make myself feel better about having to write such a long blog.
Ok first of all, I am so sorry for neglecting Tumblr and all of you lovely people but the past 6 months have been extremely important in me “growing as a person”. How do I know its 6 months? Well I had a dentist appointment couple days ago and the last appointment I had was 6 months ago. Coincidence? I think not.
But where do I start when writing a blog when I have been away for so long? I have no bloody idea and I don’t know why you’re reading this! BUT let’s get one or two thing straight;
I will not talk about emotions or stuff scene kids talk about publicly. If you want advice then please, enquire within. I’m not like these scene girls that blog about motivational quotes. If you want my advice? Ask for it. I have 5 years of Philosophy (with a degree, wink wink) under my belt so…you know…ask away! But I won’t preach if no one asks for it.
My blog is going to talk about life, the news, the media, the usual stuff that gets blogged but from my point of view. The same point of view that got kicked out of a bar once because I was singing Tom Jones too loud. The same point of view that gave me evil looks when I travelled to Paris and Barcelona ( I was wearing my biker jacket and Bowie t shirt and I got looks?!?!)
I’m getting dirty looks on the train right now so I’ll resume this later

Well its 4 days later and I returned to writing this blog. I know, I’m terrible but what can you do? (I don’t want suggestions because I know you’ll be right).
Anyways, back to business. During my time away from writing and all things creative, I genuinely missed writing. It makes me tick, it gives me something to do other than going on youtube and watching random videos of Wrestling bloopers (I recommend Botchamania, its too funny).
So I hope with all my heart that if you’re having trouble trying to break free from the norm then keep going at it because take it from me, yes I have a 9 to 5 jobs telling examiners where to go in the UK but I need something that would feed my mind. This is where writing comes into the picture, I love to express my views so why not, instead of ranting at my girlfriend, write my views down! It makes so much sense. I know for a fact that every one of us can be creative in our own and special way, and this is how I express myself! On this page that sums me up as a person.
A lot of thanks goes to my friend who reaffirmed that this is what I was born to do. Well, this and to work on Radio (used to have my own radio show at uni, wiiiiiiiiiink). After having talks with her I started thinking of ideas, my mind was a Gold Mine of ideas! So here it goes; on my page I’m going have articles like:
“Song/artist of the week”
“Hero/villian of the week”
“Gadget of the week”
“My regular blogs that talks about any random old shit”
This list goes on and I’m going to need YOUR help! Talk to me and tell me your views on anything that I have written, if you disagree, bloody tell me that I’m wrong! I want to learn!
